WIN 2003 server and a “Exception of type ‘System.OutOfMemoryException’ was thrown.”

Yesss, a old server, 32bits, but the application is also old 🙂
Problem : from time to time, there is a error in logs : “Exception of type ‘System.OutOfMemoryException’ was thrown.”, and the application goes down.
Solution : find out all about the system, and see what helps.
A boot.ini file can not be accessed through the Explorer, but can be found and edited like this :
Edit the Boot.ini file. To view and edit the Boot.ini file, follow these steps :
Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
In Control Panel, double-click System.
Click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
Under System startup, click Edit.
I have checked for PAE (Physical Address Extension) and it is not activated in boot.ini, but WIN 2003 can address 4G of RAM, and that is that.
Server data can be seen in two ways :
1. GUI : Start taster/Run option/type msinfo32
2. Command line : type sysinfo
In both cases info is the same :
Total Physical Memory 4,095.21 MB – max for WIN 2003/32
Available Physical Memory 1.77 GB – this should be about 3G, but is not
Total Virtual Memory 5.83 GB – this should be 2xRAM, but is not
Available Virtual Memory 4.01 GB – this should be 2xRAM, but is not
Page File Space 2.00 GB – this should be about 5G

See all the system updates :
Open a command prompt.
Type cd %userprofile% and press ENTER.
Type wmic qfe list full /format:htable > hotfixes.htm
Type start iexplore %userprofile%\hotfixes.htm
This gives a list of updates on system, but only for WIN OS and IE.
I solved a problem, and the solution is in this post (Serbian version).
